Highlights of Bairnsdale

Bairnsdale is situated along the banks of the magnificent Mitchell River, 285kms East of Melbourne on the Princes Highway. As the Gateway to the Gippsland Lakes, beaces, rivers, mountains, snowfields, and Far-East Gippsland, Barinsdale is an ideal base from which to explore the diverse range of attractions available.

Bairnsdale is the commercial and retail hub of the region, some of the highlights to explore include the rich history of farming, cattle and gold, scenic walks along the river, the botanical gardens or take in the fantastic array of shops.  Of course the wider region of East Gippsland is home of the world renowned Gippsland Lakes, they are one of the worlds largest inland waterways and offer boat enthusiasts and recreational anglers a haven to explore.

Conference Venue

The 2008 conference will be held at the Bairnsdale Aquatic and Recreation Centre on McKean Street, Bairnsdale.  This venue is easy commuting distance to the centre of towns and motels.  Parking is available on site and around the venue.

Accommodation

The conference registration fee does not include accommodation.

Delegates are required to book their accommodation. Bairnsdale has a range of options available from camping to boutique bed and breakfast. Another function in Bairnsdale at the same time means accommodation will be in demand, so please book early.
